Three Pots of Sauce

April 22, 2008 by evelyn

Evelyn suggested Kathy and I each bring over our own pot to her house, we’d put the three on the stovetop and make a huge batch of Basil-Marinara sauce over the course of a two-hour playdate. When you start cooking regularly with friends, things really do get easier. Kathy bought most of the ingredients and we split the costs. As we laughed and talked and our kids (4 total) played outside in the sandbox, dinner was being made. Another friend, Heidi, and her son dropped by and soon Heidi was busy chopping garlic. When the day was done, we ladled some out for Heidi, and then went our separate ways with our three pots of sauce, to simmer more on our own stoves, freeze for later, or serve right away.
