We're Open

October 1, 2009 by evelyn

Since 2006, we’ve been recommending our favorite time-saving kitchen tools to you, first through our Yahoo group and then on our web site. We heard from many of you that you bought what we recommended, and loved it too. This week we’re thrilled to launch The Cooking With Friends Shop, where you can search for and buy the tools, gadgets and appliances we love most.

Just click on the “shop” tab on the home page (or the featured shop item, or the banner way up top) and you’ll go to our store. You’ll find our familiar favorites and some things we newly can’t live without in our kitchens. Make sure you especially check out our five launch specials–The Kuhn Rikon Mandoline, Ball Canning Set, Amco Lemon Press, Kitchen Aid Immersion Blender and VIta Mix 4500 Turbo Blender. If you choose to buy any of those, you can take 10% off by typing FRIENDS in the promo code box when you order.

We’re launching the store in partnership with OpenSky, and when you check out the shop we hope you’ll get to know OpenSky a bit more too. It’s a groundbreaking e-commerce company that’s helping us source, ship, and sell these items. You’ll find other interesting shopkeepers in the OpenSky community in areas from fishing to beauty (not that fish can’t be beautiful, especially when sauteed in butter, garlic and lemon).

Our shop is constantly evolving, and we’ll be adding new products as we go. Each item will be something we really use and love in our own kitchens. We hope the store will help you save time, save money and have fun cooking with your friends!

About Alison J. Bermack

It all began when I was a child cooking with my dad, the kitchen a magnet for cooking and camaraderie, a refuge from adolescence. I spent countless hours chopping, sautéing and simmering my way through childhood. And now, with three kids of my own, I’m still chopping, but this time through their childhood and often with friends.
