Cooking With Friends Club and Sam's Club Working Together

November 16, 2009 by evelyn

We’ve been bulk shopping for years (often times together with friends), and encouraging other moms to do the same since our founding in 2006. So, we are thrilled to announce that we are teaming up with Sam’s Club. This relationship is a natural for us and we couldn’t be more proud and excited that such an established resource is embracing the Cooking With Friends way of life.

When we walk into Sam’s Club, we see incredible potential for cooking dates””for saving time, saving money, but most of all for spending time with our friends.
We love the large quantities of flour, sugar and rice to split with our friends and then stock our pantries, the packages of cubed beef to make stew together, and the containers of spices to make herb mixes for holiday gifts. It’s our favorite stop for buying honey, dried cherries and oatmeal in bulk for our granola making dates and chicken breasts, flour and eggs for our chicken tender making sessions. The wide range of international ingredients available at Sam’s provides us with an endless source of culinary inspiration. And we always make sure to pick up plastic storage bags and containers, so our fridges and freezers are well-organized and filled with the delicious foods we make with friends.

So, what does this mean for you, our readers? In this designated Sam’s Cooking Club spot, we will post a series of features highlighting how Sam’s Club helps us cook in our daily lives and how shopping there can help you too. We will show how valuable Sam’s can be during the holidays in starting long-lasting traditions, like baking cookies together with friends. We’ll have cost and time saving tips, anecdotes and advice about shopping and cooking, and even some terrific giveaways provided by Sam’s Club!

We’ll also point you to the great information on Sam’s Club’s site at Sam’s Club Cooking Club. There you will find recipes, shopping lists and some fun ideas for cooking together. The section shows step-by-step how three friends can make seven dinners (for a family of four) for about $300, when they do it as a team.

Also on the site, you’ll see us on Sam’s new cooking club feature. We are delighted to expand Cooking With Friends through this new relationship and hope you are too.

About Alison J. Bermack

It all began when I was a child cooking with my dad, the kitchen a magnet for cooking and camaraderie, a refuge from adolescence. I spent countless hours chopping, sautéing and simmering my way through childhood. And now, with three kids of my own, I’m still chopping, but this time through their childhood and often with friends.
