Bon Ami Cleaning Supplies

September 20, 2011 by Alison

Send me an e-mail to ajbermack@verizon.net by Saturday, September 24th by 9:00 pm and tell me what you’d do with a beautiful set of Bon Ami cleaners. I will select a winner who will receive a beautiful (yes beautiful) gift set of all natural Bon Ami cleaning supplies.

I couldn’t have received my complimentary gift pack of Bon Ami cleaning supplies to test and possibly review at a better time. I had just fired my cleaning ladies and decided to take charge of cleaning my own house. I do this from time to time in order to get things under control in the home department and save a few bucks.

Since I’ve always been concerned about chemicals in cleaning supplies but never knew what alternatives I had, I was thrilled to learn that Bon Ami, a company that has been around since 1886 (that’s 126 years!), has a full line of toxin and chemical free products. My husband, who often busts me for keeping cleaning supplies near food in the kitchen, was also pleased to see this new assortment of healthy cleaners.

As you know, I’m always up front with companies and tell them I only review what I like and leave the negatives off my site. Well friends, I am happy to report that Bon Ami is the new gold in my house. Seriously, this stuff is great. (See how I didn’t say “Fantastic!”)

First of all, the Tangerine Thyme scent is beautiful. So as you spray and clean your counters, you’re left with a pleasant and subtle aroma. I’m pretty picky when it comes to fragrances, especially in my kitchen and this one is far better than any of the typical lemon scents. The all-purpose cleaner works great on my granite kitchen countertops and even in the bathroom for quick smell-fresh clean ups. The liquid cleanser, which has limestone in it, works great to get rid of splatter marks on tile and removes kids messy finger prints from walls and chairs. And the powder cleanser is a fantastic replacement for harsh powder and works beautifully on removing stains in my porcelain sink.

I may sound like a hokey advertisement when I tell you this, but as I clean and scrub, I feel really good that I’m using something that won’t harm my family. I’m an all-natural Bon Ami addict now and thank them graciously for helping me jump start the cleaning in my house.

I love the bright yellow retro packaging with the illustration of a cute little chick coming out of the egg. It’s sweet to look at and an accent to my kitchen. Although my husband reminds me that it’s best to keep the supplies under the kitchen counter when I’m done cleaning, honestly, I just like the look of the products.

This is so interesting. I’ve been using the Bonami in the yellow can for years and years. We use it to clean bathroom sinks and tubs instead of comet or any of the other harsh detergents. It works fantastically. I didn’t realize Bonami had other products but I’d love to try any product that cleans granite counters, stove top, stainless appliances, etc.

About Alison Javens

It all began when I was a child cooking with my dad, the kitchen a magnet for cooking and camaraderie, a refuge from adolescence. I spent countless hours chopping, sautéing and simmering my way through childhood. And now, with three kids of my own, I’m still chopping, but this time through their childhood and often with friends.
