If you’re on my website then we probably have one thing in common — we both like to cook! Or we at least like the people we are cooking with. Home cooks like you and I who are passionate about creating meals for their family and with hours and hours of practice in our own kitchens and those of our friends can become quite skilled. Sometimes we’re so inspired that something that must be done no longer becomes a chore but turns into something enjoyable and even becomes an avocation. And then sometimes that passion for cooking can lead to an interest in a paid culinary career. And if there is one type of cook that rivals those of any professional, it’s the mom who is slicing, dicing and cooking endless meals for her family. I’d like to see a mom chef up against a restaurant chef one day! But suppose you are interested in a professional cooking career. How does one go about entering the professional culinary world? Thankfully there are informational websites such as Culinary Schools to guide us in our decision making process. With informative articles such as “Finding the Right Cooking School” and “The Role of Education in a Cooking Career,” you can turn to a useful resource. Not only is this website full of informational articles, but with its search tool, you can also find a school that’s right for you.

Disclosure: I was asked to review this website and agreed to do so in exchange for a small payment.

About Alison J. Bermack

It all began when I was a child cooking with my dad, the kitchen a magnet for cooking and camaraderie, a refuge from adolescence. I spent countless hours chopping, sautéing and simmering my way through childhood. And now, with three kids of my own, I’m still chopping, but this time through their childhood and often with friends.
