PRODUCT REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY — CAKE BOSS COOKIE SHEET AND COOKIE SCOOP

September 26, 2013 by Alison

LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW TELLING ME HOW YOU WOULD USE THESE TWO PRODUCTS FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A CAKE BOSS COOKIE SCOOP AND COOKIE SHEET.

Do you ever wish you could bake a cake at home that looks like you bought it at Carlos’ bakery? Exciting news!

Now you can with more than 200 “Buddy approved” baking products created by Meyer Corporation (the largest cookware company in the United States) for Buddy Valastro, TV star of the hit show “Cake Boss”! This new product line which includes everything from prep and fondant tools to gadgets and serving platters will be sold at Michaels. To learn more, visit the Cake Boss website or Cake Boss Facebook page or follow them on Twitter: @CakeBossBaking

I was thrilled to be asked to test and review a couple products myself. Since it’s cookie making season, I selected the insulated cookie sheet with red silicone grips and the two tablespoon cookie scoop. I love trying out new products, especially those made by my favorite cookware company — Meyer Corporation. And what better way to test out a cookie sheet and scoop than to make a batch of cookies with a friend — two opinions are always be better than one. It’s always more fun to have company when baking seven dozen (hopefully perfectly cooked) cookies! Plus there will be one for one of my lucky readers too — just leave a comment below by next Wednesday October 3rd for your chance to win!

I asked my cookie baking comrade Suzy to help bake a batch of cookies. And oh what a hard time I had getting her to agree to make cookies with me (not!). She couldn’t have put it any better at the start of our baking date: “Not all cookie sheets are created equally.” I guess she’s had plenty of experience with uneven cooking and was eager to see how well the new cookie sheet would actually work. So I let her choose the cookie du jour — an oatmeal cookie with a fudgy center.

The cookie scoop created a large and perfectly round cookie, working like a charm scooping and releasing the cookie dough onto the non-stick baking sheet. The 14 x 16-inch Insulated Cookie Pan was large enough to squeeze on a fifteen cookies which baked to a perfect, even finish. So far, these two products get two thumbs up from Cooking With Friends. I’ll be sure to report back in 6 months after I’ve made thousands of cookies! Because after success with the first batch, the cookie sheet will now be my go to baking sheet and will surely get a lot of use.

So, get in on the fun! In conjunction with the introduction of this nifty new product line, shoppers are invited to participate at any Michaels in the United State Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. Shoppers will play a free game of Cake Roulette spinning a wheel to discover their reason to bake and receive complimentary recipe cards that correlate to the products. Cake Boss products can also be found at http:www.michaels.com. Check out their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Michaels and follow them on Twitter to learn more: @MichaelsStores.

From Meyer, about the scooper: “Ideal for scooping and placing perfectly proportioned dough onto baking pans, this solidly built metal gadget features easy to squeeze, spring-action handles. The curved lever inside the scoop thoroughly releases cookie dough, and resets quickly for the next portion. This versatile tool is also great for filling cupcake pans with batter. Suggested retail price is $12.99.

From Meyer, about the cookie sheet: “Deluxe with Red Silicone Grips is crafted from heavy-duty carbon steel with rolled edges to provide strength and resist warping. Wide handles featuring heat-safe silicone grips in the fun shape of a rolling pin ensure a confident, comfortable grasp, even with bulky oven mitts. Long-lasting, silver-colored nonstick resists wear, offers superb release of baked goods, and makes cleanup a snap. Insulated cookie pans evenly circulate heat and bake dough beautifully.”

Disclosure: I was given the products for free in agreement to test and review the products. As always, I only write about products that I did in fact like.

I could use a new cookie sheet as mine have just about been used till they are worn out. Lots of years of cookie making. And I don’t believe I have ever owned a cookie scooper, so this would definitely help keep my cookies more uniform. Thanks.

This looks like a fantastic cookie sheet, and I love the little rolling pin…practical and adorable! I’d use these tools to make bake sale goodies, and all the other ladies would be jealous of my perfectly shaped cookies.

This looks like such a cookie sheet! I love making cookies, but i have some hand me down cookie sheet pans that are very old and don’t really do a good job cooking cookies evenly, so this would really come in handy 🙂 Thanks for the chance!

How marvelous! It seems that I am forever making cookies for church, school or family (don’t worry – I love to bake!). I have read that the Cake Boss line is very high quality. I also know lots of cooks who use a scoop for cookie dough but I don’t have one!

This is such a great giveaway especially with Christmas just around the corner. I’d love making cookies on this cookie sheet — not having to worry about turning the cookie sheet halfway through so they bake evenly and the scoop would help my cookies come out more uniform!
