How to Fold a Towel (While baking biscotti)

October 8, 2019 by Alison Leave a Comment

You never know what you will learn in a given day, especially while cooking with a friend. I always tell my students that a home cook at any level can learn something new each and every time they cook with someone else. Whether it’s a blueberry cake recipe handed down from a friend’s great grandma, a tried and true tip (like how to remove the smell of garlic on your hands) or as I did the other day, how to fold a towel!

You heard me right. . . how to fold a towel and perfectly I may add! It was during a biscotti making date with Suzy that Suzy shared the one homemaker tip she says her mom passed down to her from her mother.

While waiting for our biscotti to bake, I snuck downstairs to fold some laundry. Suzy followed and started to help me with the towels. I marveled at her neat and compact method of folding a towel. I couldn’t refuse Suzy’s offer as I was mesmerized by how she could fold a towel so perfectly. I’m no Molly McHousemaker but I know a good tip when I see one. I am so thrilled that I had to make a video to share with all of you! How to Fold a Towel Video

With this video I am sharing the link to the cinnamon biscotti recipe we followed and I’d only change one thing about the recipe and that’s the name — “Snickerdoodle Biscotti.” You can’t go wrong with this sweet and crunchy cookie nor with folding a towel the way Suzy’s mother taught her.

About Alison J. Bermack

It all began when I was a child cooking with my dad, the kitchen a magnet for cooking and camaraderie, a refuge from adolescence. I spent countless hours chopping, sautéing and simmering my way through childhood. And now, with three kids of my own, I’m still chopping, but this time through their childhood and often with friends.
